Hey, thanks for stopping by.
I'm Jeri Westerson and I write medieval mysteries with an enigmatic, flawed, sexy, and very different protagonist. His name is Crispin Guest and he's an ex-knight turned private eye. You might want to think of him as a Medieval Sam Spade and these mysteries as Medieval Noir. That's what makes him and these novels different. They're full of hard-hitting action and characters with dirty little secrets. Then there's the added twist of a mysterious relic dropped into the middle of murder. They always seem to stir things up, whether it's something everyone wants to get their hands on or can't wait to get rid of.
I debuted with VEIL OF LIES, which was a finalist for the 2009 Macavity for the Sue Feder Memorial Historical Mystery Award and the 2010 finalist for the Shamus for Best First PI Novel.
The second in the series, SERPENT IN THE THORNS, is a finalist for the 2010 Macavity for the Sue Feder Historical Mystery Award and the 2010 Bruce Alexander Historical Mystery Award.
The third, THE DEMON'S PAARCHMENT, will be released October 12, 2010.
Readers have been fascinated by the fourteenth century time period, the medieval London setting, the intrigue of King Richard II's court, the mysterious relics that propell the story, Crispin's angst and romance, the murder and whodunnit, his reformed cutpurse protege Jack Tucker's next adventures...oh so much more than your average medieval mystery.
